Ty Segall– Whirlybird Soundtrack LP (Drag City)
Ty Segall meets a new non-rock challenge head-on; soundtrack music for the documentary film Whirlybird. A variety of synth sounds, electric keyboards, drums, percussion and saxophone (and yeah, a few guitars) form a shifting impressionist counterpart, instrumental music that dialogues with and serves to frame the film’s compulsive themes and images.
Erykah Badu – But You Can’t Use My Phone LP (Motown)
Limited purple colored vinyl LP pressing. But You Caint Use My Phone was originally released on November 27th, 2015. The mixtape takes influence from hip hop, R&B, jazz, and art rock, with lyrics that focus on the themes of communication, notably through phones, with lyrics that touch upon ideas of “missed connections, call waiting, answering machines.”
Cranberries – Stars (The Best Of 1992-2002) LP (Island)
Double vinyl LP pressing. The Cranberries Greatest Hits collection, featuring music from their rise to international fame. Includes hits like “Zombie”, “Dreams” and “Linger”, collected here alongside tracks from their five album & two bonus songs, “New New York” and “Stars”.
DEHD – Blue Skies CD/LP (Fat Possum)
The rapturous reception of 2020’s Flower of Devotion gave Dehd access to more resources – budgets, studios, producers. Rather than seek something new however, they invested in themselves, their process, and their deep belief in what they have always done. They booked the same studio where they recorded Flower of Devotion but tripled their stay, giving themselves time to play with arrangements and delight in a wonderland of drum machines and synthesizers. The result is the band’s second consecutive breakthrough: sharper and smarter, with harmonies and rhythms more sophisticated and considered. Blue Skies is still Dehd – just more wild and wonderful than ever before. Another jolt of timely hope, only with twice the power.
Stars – From Capelton Hill CD/LP (Last Gang)
Stars return with their new album From Capelton Hill. Their first instalment is a two-song pack titled Pretenders/Snowy Owl, with focus single “Pretenders” showcasing their signature hook-heavy, dance-infused anthems that the band has been known for over 20+ years. Stars continue to prove themselves some of the finest musical storytellers in the country, moving through life with their fans.
Bright Eyes – A Collection Of Songs Written and Recorded LP (Dead Oceans)
Opaque Gold Vinyl. It’s the desire to celebrate their sonic bounty that first got Oberst and the band excited about the idea of comprehensive reissues. But this wouldn’t be a Bright Eyes project if a moment devoted to appreciating the past weren’t turned into an opportunity to connect with the future. That’s where the nine companion EPs come in. Or as Oberst puts it, “the supplemental reading” for the primary reissues: One six-track EP per reissued album, each featuring five reworked songs from that album. “My thing was they had to sound different from the originals, we had to mess with them in a substantial way.” Plus one cover that felt “of the era” in which that particular albums was made – a song that meant something to the band at the time. To help the EPs come alive in the fullest way, Bright Eyes called in lots of old friends, like Bridgers, M. Ward, and Welch and Rawlings, as well as new ones like Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee.
Orgone – Lost Knights LP (3 Palm Records)
Lost Knights is ultimately a fun record- an expansion of a profound part of the band’s DNA, their exploration of the cosmic haze between early Westbound catalog, 70s garage rock, skateboards, & the muscular power of a metallic crimson ‘68 Chevy Camaro. With racing stripes.
Atmosphere – Lucy Ford LP (Rhymesayers)
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the entire Lucy Ford album is finally available on 2xLP vinyl, for the first time in history. At last, fans and collectors everywhere can finally own this integral part of Atmosphere’s legacy on vinyl, complete with the original artwork and a redesigned layout.
Doja Cat – Planet Her 2LP (RCA)
Featuring Young Thug, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, JID, SZA, Eve & Gunna!
Titled after the fictional planet conceived by rapper/singer Doja Cat, Planet Her is an amalgamation of pop, hip hop and R&B styles. The artist’s third studio album includes the singles “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA, “You Right” featuring The Weeknd, “Need To Know” and “Woman”, and also features guest appearances by Young Thug, Ariana Grande, JID, Eve and Gunna.

Frightnrs– Always CD/LP (Daptone)
Before Dan Klein’s unfortunate passing, The Frightnrs agreed to keep a promise he asked of them – continue making music together. Part of that promise has been made manifest here…Daptone Records is proud to present ALWAYS! – the raw, soulful new long player from The Frightnrs. The road to Always began with a period of intense songwriting back when The Frightnrs and producer Victor Axelrod (Ticklah) were working on the group’s debut, rocksteady masterpiece, Nothing More to Say. In addition to the scorchers heard therein, Axelrod and The Frightnrs agreed many of the recordings were too sweet to tamper with in order to fit the rocksteady mold. Some were created at their headquarters in Queens with Dan on the mic, some were elaborations on older ideas, others were brand new creations made at the finish line. Thanks to the vocal stems they had captured in this golden period, Dan Klein’s other-worldly voice lived on, giving The Frightnrs all the raw material they needed for an entire album’s worth of new, original music. So with that, The Frightnrs and Axelrod returned to the studio and painstakingly conceptualized, tracked, re-tracked and mixed them into a complete album with their beloved friend singing lead. The fruits of this arduous process lay bare the undying love and respect between musical brothers.
Jlin – Embryo 12″ (Planet Mu)
Jlin’s new EP Embryo marks a key point in the multi-platform artistic growth of the Indiana-based producer. It features a bold and fiery sound palette recalling the futurism of nineties Detroit techno and British IDM without succumbing to their clichés. With faint echoes of classic Model 500, it sounds like music for automated cars, robot cop junctions and virtual freeways in the air. A fifth wave techno?
Nightmares on Wax – Remixed! To Freedom 12″ (Warp)
Nightmares on Wax releases a new remix E.P, dubbing it as “A melting pot of remixes by some of my modern day fave producers” with electronic music royalty Osunlade, Tuccillo, Mala and NOW himself.
Pennywise – Full Circle Anniversary Edition LP (Epitaph)
Limited silver with black splatter colored vinyl LP pressing. Full Circle is the fourth full-length album by punk rock band Pennywise, originally released in 1997. This is the first Pennywise studio album to feature Randy Bradbury, who replaced bassist Jason Thirsk, who had died from suicide on July 29, 1996. The entire album was dedicated to the memory of Thirsk, who had been a key songwriter for Pennywise until his death, and a close friend of all of those in the band.
Get Up Kids – Live At The Granada Theater LP (Vagrant)
This is the way it all ends for one of the most important bands to ever take the stage. The Get Up Kids made it official that they were breaking up after more than 10 years of recording, touring, and being one of the most influential bands ever. When you hear about the success of the ’emo’ scene, it’s important to remember that these Kansas boys were out there paving the way before it ever hit the pages of Spin or Rolling Stone. The new live album is nothing more than a greatest hits album once you look at the track selection. It seems rather fitting that the last release from this band would be live. Limited color reissue.
Get Up Kids – On A Wire LP (Vagrant)
On a Wire is the third studio album by the band The Get Up Kids on Vagrant Records. Originally released in 2002. Available again as a limited colored pressing.
Liam Gallagher – C’mon You Know CD/LP (Warner)
While C’mon You Know pulsates with the traits that have made Liam such an iconic figure – a raucous rock ‘n’ roll anthem topped by his signature snarl – it’s also a strong step forward in terms of both attitude and audio. Musically it’s layered with unexpected sonic touches: surging Motown-tinged gospel backing vocals, shrieking saxophone from Ezra Koenig, and vintage Moog synths heightening the sonic maelstrom.
Taking Back Sunday – Tell All Your Friends (20th Anniversary Edition) LP+10″ (Craft)
Limited vinyl LP pressing includes bonus 10″ vinyl pressing with unreleased demos. Tell All Your Friends is the groundbreaking debut album from Long Island’s Taking Back Sunday. Boasting the hit singles “Cute Without The ‘E’ (Cut From The Team),” “Great Romances of the 20th Century” and “You’re So Last Summer,” the album is highly acclaimed and has influenced artists of all sizes and genres over the last 20 years. This 20th Anniversary Edition of the album includes four previously unreleased demos.

Sparks – Exotic Creatures Of The Deep 2LP (BMG)

The final appearance at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on June 13 premièred Exotic Creatures of the Deep. Russell Mael – all vocals, engineering, mixing / Ron Mael – keyboards, programming, orchestrations, mixing / Tammy Glover – drums / Dean Menta – guitars / John Thomas – mixing, engineering
Meshell Ndegeocello – Bitter LP (Rhino)
Bitter (Deluxe Edition). This is the first worldwide release on vinyl! Expanded to a 2-LP set that includes bonus instrumental tracks making their debut on vinyl. Feature deluxe packaging and pressed on colored vinyl.
David Grubbs & Jan St Werner – Translation From Unspecified LP (Blue Chopsticks)
After years of exchanging ideas, Translation from Unspecified marks David Grubbs and Jan St. Werner’s studio debut locking horns as a duo. Evolving from a microscopically disordered set of sounds and words into a reconstituted monolith of sound, it’s clear this deck-clearing collaboration was long overdue.
Dean Spent & John Wiese – The Echoing Shell LP (Drag City)
Veteran noisemakers Spunt & Weise debut as collaborators by drawing from the rumble and crash of Dean’s drum kit, finding dimensions of hiss and crunch on beyond his No Age style. A fantastic conception in contemporary musique concrete; alternately ripping and discriminating music, dry humor, word shapes, meaning, and astonishing depth of field.
Sex Pistols – The Original Recordings 2LP (UMe)
The Sex Pistols: The Original Recordings covers a historic period when the band were rarely out of the news or the charts. The collection soundtracks the period and features key singles ‘Anarchy In The UK’, ‘God Save The Queen’, ‘Pretty Vacant’ and ‘Holidays In The Sun’, essential tracks from Never Mind The Bollocks, further originals and covers from The Great Rock & Roll Swindle soundtrack album and some essential B- sides. .
Leon Vynehall – Fabric Presents Leon Vynehall LP (Fabric)
Leon Vynehall follows his second album Rare, Forever that landed in many of 2021’s Best Album charts with a spot on the ‘fabric presents’ series. His mix bursts with exclusives from collaborators Skee Mask, Or:la, Gaunt, Avon Blume and Ehua, and his own ‘Sugar Slip (The Lick) that merges a garagey bassline with euphoric moments of 90s trance. The compilation opens with a spoken word introduction from Wesley Joseph, and proceeds effortlessly through ambient from artists Zebrablood and Newworldaquarium, hip-hop (from Wax), breakbeat, the dense dub of Mala and the Afro-Portuguese edge of house with tracks from Bubas Produçoes and A.k.Adrix. Vynehall displays his unique ability to weave together different genres and textures in a way that is technically fascinating while still warm and very listenable.
