ALICE COLTRANEPtah The El Daoud LP (Verve)
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Recorded in the basement studio of the Coltrane family home in Dix Hills in 1970, Alice Coltrane’s fourth album is a transcendent masterpiece of spiritual jazz. The title track is an ode to the Egyptian God, Ptah (the El Daoud meaning “the beloved”). Many moments on the album reach what Coltrane herself defined the term Turiya as: “a state of consciousness – the high state of Nirvana, the goal of human life.” Verve By Request Series features 180-gram vinyl pressed at Third Man in Detroit.

DOMI & JD BeckNot Tight LP (Apeshit Inc)
Finally available on LP. Domi & JD Beck release their highly anticipated debut album Not Tight on Anderson.Paak’s new label, Apeshit Inc in partnership with Blue Note Records. Featuring special guests Anderson.Paak, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Herbie Hancock, Thundercat, Mac DeMarco, and Kurt Rosenwinkel, the album exemplifies their trailblazing take on jazz. The New York Times hailed them as simultaneously “freakishly complex and virtuosic” and “relentlessly melodic.”

CHRISTINE AND THE QUEENS Redcar Les Adorable Etoiles CD/LP (Because)
“Redcar” is the latest project-slash-character from the musician known as Christine and the Queens. “Christine and the Queens” has always been a stage persona for the artist born Héloïse Letissier — the name taken from when he was inspired by drag queen musicians at London’s Soho nightclub Madame Jojo’s — but even that persona has morphed along with Letissier. Hence “Redcar,” the newest literal vehicle of creativity for the musician — a rich, romantic odyssey that expands upon the project of Christine and the Queens and adds even more dimensions and possibilities.

HANK IIIStraight To Hell LP reissue (Curb)
Super Limited! Double red colored vinyl LP pressing. Straight to Hell is the third studio album by American musician Hank Williams III. In largely self-produced sessions recorded at a band member’s home, Williams and the Damn Band recorded traditional country music, western swing and bluegrass songs which focus on drug use, hedonism and the outlaw life, as well as criticism of the mainstream country music industry. These songs make up the first disc, while the second disc consists of a sound collage of psychedelic music.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEENOnly The Strong Survive CD/LP (Columbia)
Available on black and indie exclusive colored vinyl. Only The Strong Survive is the new album from Bruce Springsteen, and his first new studio album since 2020’s Letter To You. The album is a collection of soul music gems that celebrate the legendary songbooks of Gamble and Huff, Motown, Stax and many more. Only The Strong Survive features vocals from Springsteen and instrumentation primarily from his longtime producer Ron Aniello. The album also features guest vocals from Sam Moore, as well as contributions from The E Street Horns, full string arrangements by Rob Mathes and backing vocals from Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell, Michelle Moore, Curtis King Jr., Fonzi Thornton and Dennis Collins.

BILL FRISELLFour CD/LP (Blue Note)
Bill Frisell convenes a new line-up of musical friends on his third Blue Note album, Four, which features the acclaimed guitarist with Gregory Tardy on saxophone and clarinet, Gerald Clayton on piano, and Johnathan Blake on drums. Together, the foursome delves into intimate explorations of thirteen Frisell originals (both old and new) to create this stunning new work that is a meditation on loss, renewal, and friendship.

BAD RELIGIONHow Could Hell Be Any Worse? LP reissue (Epitaph)
Limited clear with black smoke colored vinyl LP pressing. 40th Anniversary edition. How Could Hell Be Any Worse? is the debut studio album by Bad Religion, originally released in 1982. Released almost a year after their self-titled EP, it was financed by a $3,000 loan by guitarist Brett Gurewitz’s father. Its success surprised the band when it sold 10,000 copies in under a year. How Could Hell Be Any Worse? was recorded over two time periods at Track Record Studios in North Hollywood, California, during October-November 1980 and again in January 1981.

CERBERUS SHOAL Homb Rouge LP (Temporary Residence)
The long out-of-print breakthrough third album by the forever forward-thinking New England collective, Cerberus Shoal, is rightfully considered a high-water mark for the band, and a quintessential example of what would eventually be commonly defined as “post-rock.” The first studio album to feature the members of fellow local experimental rock troupe, Tarpigh, Homb exemplifies the transitional magic and mystery that marked Cerberus Shoal’s brilliant early era. Unraveling their various influences – early 90s post-hardcore, shoegaze, avant-rock, psych-folk, early New Age – and weaving them into something uniquely rich and resonant seemed almost effortless to Cerberus Shoal, and perhaps no album epitomized that more than the lush tapestry of Homb. Finally available on vinyl for the first time ever, Homb – Anniversary Edition is packaged in restored artwork with extensive new liner notes written by the band. The record has been newly mastered for vinyl by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service, and pressed onto audiophile-grade vinyl.

JONI MITCHELLBlue LP reissue (Rhino)
Limited edition clear colored LP reissue.

LOVAGEMusic To Make Love To Your Old Lady By (INSTRUMENTALS) 2LP (Bulk)
Instrumental version of the seminal Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By. Limited and colored.

DROPKICK MURPHYSThis Machine Still Kills Fascists LP (Dummy Luck)
Dropkick Murphys’ history with Woody Guthrie dates back decades, from covering “Gonna Be A Blackout Tonight” on their 2003 album Blackout, to using some of Guthrie’s writing about Boston in their immortal hit “I’m Shipping Up To Boston”. But on their latest album, This Machine Still Kills Fascists, Dropkick Murphys have crafted an entire record around the seminal American folk icon, bringing Woody Guthrie’s perennial jabs at life-many of which are from the 1940s and ’50s-into the present, with the resulting music eerily relevant to today’s world. The idea for the collaboration had been percolating between Guthrie’s daughter Nora and the band for more than a decade, with Nora curating a collection of her father’s never before-published lyrics for the band over the years. The result is one of Dropkick Murphys most unique releases, and the culmination of two like-minded rebellious artists collaborating, albeit nearly a century apart.

GOGOL BORDELLOSuper Taranta LP reissue (Side One Dummy)
Double blue and yellow colored vinyl LP pressing, housed in a gatefold jacket and includes poster. Super Taranta! Is the fourth album by Gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello, originally released in 2007.

JJ GREY + MOFROCountry Ghetto LP reissue (Alligator)
Vinyl LP pressing. First-ever vinyl availability for the best-selling title of JJ Grey’s career since its original release in 2007. JJ’s intoxicating blend of Dixie-fried rock, swampy blues and gritty R&B is at its peak in these compelling, literary songs brimming with outsized characters and soul-shaking music. Tracks include fan favorites “The Sun Is Shining Down,” “War,” “A Woman” and the title song

REVOLTING COCKSBeers, Steers and Queers LP (Cleopatra)
Reissue of the most infamous studio album by the notorious side project of Ministry’s Al Jourgensen, Revolting Cocks! Originally released in 1990, this album furthered the degradation of the Cocks audio template of twisted drum loops, industrial synths and distorted vocals! Restored to the original LP running order and packaged with several bonus tracks including the banned original version of RC’s cover of Olivia Newton John’s “(Let’s Get) Physical!”

BOBBY OROZAGet On The Otherside (Instrumental) LP (Big Crown)
Bobby Oroza and Cold Diamond & Mink treat us to the instrumental version of their latest album Get On The Otherside. Bobby Oroza put his desire for the profound on wax with his sophomore album Get On The Otherside. Musically, he updated the formula we were introduced to on the first record. But lyrically, songs are bravely rooted in the more complicated, ubiquitous inner tangles of life like self-examination and coming to terms with the vastness of the human experience. This limited edition pressing is a chance to enjoy the musicianship and production prowess of the crew without the lyrics giving it a whole other level of vibe to take in.

ATARIS End Is Forever LP reissue (Cleopatra)
The classic 2001 album from pop punk heroes, The Ataris! This album was the breakout release for the band containing some of singer Kris Roe’s catchiest melodies which landed them their first spot on the Warped Tour! Available on limited edition blue vinyl.

BORN RUFFIANSPulp LP reissue LP (Yep Roc)
It would be short selling it to call PULP a collection of b-sides and rarities. Rather, it is a group of songs who have been patiently waiting their turn. ““Happy Parasites”” was at the top of the list when Born Ruffians entered the studio to record Uncle, Duke & the Chief in 2017 but it never made it into the sessions. “”Husha”” has been kicking around Youtube and various hard drives, a bootleg of sorts, for nearly ten years. ““Heat Wave”” is a head-bobbing, slow-burn banger that just needed a little more gestation time. PULP, strained and separated for your convenience. You may now swirl them back into the eddying roil or consume each song independently. All we ask is you refrigerate after opening. The First Edition LP of PULP is pressed on blue vinyl and limited to 1,000 copies worldwide.

KING GIZZARD AND THE LIZARD WIZARDChanges LP (KGLW)
Originally imagined as their 5th album of 2017, Changes has ended up the 5th album King Gizzard released in 2022. Good things come to those who wait, and Changes is worth every one of the 2,628,000 minutes King Gizzard invested in it. Soaked in warm sonics of `70s R&B guided by simple chord changes, and rounding out another remarkable year for the group, Changes is a soft pop marvel.

FRUITBATSTripper LP reissue (Jealous Butcher)
Tripper, the Fruit Bats’ 2011 follow-up to The Ruminant Band, is more pared down, with bandleader Eric Johnson doing most of the legwork himself. Synthesizers and keyboard loops replace the knotted guitars. Atmospheric washes of sound replace the sunny, straightforward hooks. On songs like “The Fen,” instruments replace vocals entirely, sounding more like a clip from an orchestral movie soundtrack than the work of a rock band. The majority of the work was done by Johnson and producer Thom Monahan, resulting in a layered sound that stacks overdubbed harmonies onto combinations of pump organ, found sounds, acoustic guitar, and various bleeps and bloops. Whether he’s working alone or leading a full lineup, though, Johnson knows his way around a good pop hook, and Tripper’s best songs are rooted in catchy, sunny melodies that shine through their heavy wrapping paper. Proof that Johnson knows how to stretch his legs without losing his balance.

MANCHESTER ORCHESTRAA Black Mile To The Surface LP reissue (Loma Vista)
Double gray marbled vinyl LP pressing. A Black Mile to the Surface is a bold record of vision and purpose, inspired by and dwelling in a sensory and imaginative experience. It’s a reinvention of sorts, both musically and personally – a sort of cosmic worldview shift. But in the end, the record’s themes are universal.

JOHNETTE NAPOLITANOExquisite Corpses CD/LP (SchoolKids)
Exquisite Corpses is the first full length album in over a decade from Johnette Napolitano, best known as lead vocalist, songwriter and bassist for the L.A. alternative rock trio Concrete Blonde, whose 90’s hit ‘Joey’ earned gold and platinum awards internationally. Settled in to her own studio in the high desert of Southern California, the Joshua Tree Recording Company, she podcasts ‘Coffee & A Card’, musings on the Tarot and all things supernatural and continues to create music for film and television.

NATHANIEL RATELIFF AND THE NIGHT SWEATSFuture LP reissue (Fantasy)
Limited translucent tan vinyl LP pressing. Nathaniel Rateliff once again demonstrates that he is an artist of the highest order. The 3rd album from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats showcases his unique observations of our world’s ongoing struggle in learning how to better understand each other. The Future was produced by Rateliff, Brad Cook, Rateliff, Patrick Meese, and James Barone.

DAVE ALVINEleven Eleven CD/LP reissue (Yep Roc)
To celebrate the eleventh anniversary of Eleven Eleven, Dave Alvin has added three songs to the album, which were originally released as bonus tracks on the deluxe edition. This album includes songs, which are now standards in Dave Alvin’s live set, including “Johnny Ace is Dead”, “Harlan County Line” and “What’s Up With Your Brother,” featuring Dave’s brother, Phil Alvin.

ROBERT GLASPER Black Radio (10th Anniversary deluxe reissue) LP (Blue Note)
With his 2012 album Black Radio, Robert Glasper laid out a new paradigm for creative music, reaching beyond entrenched genre boundaries to create a singular vision that drew from all reaches of contemporary black music with his Experiment band and a rollcall of special guests including Erykah Badu, yasiin bey, Lupe Fiasco, Bilal, Lalah Hathaway, Meshell Ndegeocello and others. The 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes the original album plus 3 bonus tracks and the remix EP Black Radio Recovered.

CHARLIE HUNTERBing Bing Bing LP reissue (Blue Note)
Double 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Charlie Hunter’s 1995 Blue Note debut Bing Bing Bing! Was a groove-heavy tour-de-force that announced the arrival of a virtuosic new guitarist on the scene. Hunter’s unique concept on his 8-string guitar allowed him to lay down a bass line and play chords as well as a melodic line at the same time, producing music that was at once impressive and irrepressible. With his powerful trio featuring tenor saxophonist Dave Ellis and drummer Jay Lane plus contributions from trombonist Jeff Cressman, Ben Goldberg, pedal steel guitarist David Phillips, and percussionist Scott Roberts, Hunter delivered a 10-song set of propulsive originals including “Greasy Granny” and “Fistful of Haggis” plus an unforgettable cover of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.” Hunter would go on to record six more excellent albums for Blue Note, and also gain notice for playing on D’Angelo’s 2000 neo-soul masterpiece Voodoo. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes.

RECOILLiquid LP reissue (Mute)
RECOILSubhuman LP reissue (Mute)
RECOILUnsound Methods LP reissue (Mute)
Recoil is the musical project of former Depeche Mode member, Alan Wilder, and Mute will release the project’s last three albums Liquid, Unsound Methods and subHuman. Originally a solo venture for Alan’s more experimental work outside of Depeche Mode, Recoil became his primary music project after he announced his departure from the band in 1995. After a 6-year break from recording, Alan Wilder returned with Recoil’s fifth studio album, subHuman. This dark electronic album, which sets the listener a challenge to analyze what makes us human and subHuman, is a collaboration with bluesman Joe Richardson, who Wilder came across via a Google search. Richardson provided guitar, harmonica and eerie vocals dealing with themes of murder, death, and religion. Singer Carla Trevaskis lent her ethereal vocals on ‘Allelujah’.

SOYUZForce Of The Wind LP (Mr Bongo)
Some records just stop you in your tracks. They resonate with you and feel instantly familiar like an old friend, even on the first listen. SOYUZ’s third album Force of the Wind is one of those records. It holds all the trademarks, beauty, and eccentricities of classic Brazilian recordings, from the 60s and 70s, that we have come to love. Think artists such as Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges, Burnier e Cartier, Arthur Verocai et al. But this record wasn’t made in Brazil and is in fact a brand-new release. SOYUZ (which translates as ‘union’) is a creative collective from Minsk, Belarus, led by composer, arranger, and singer, Alex Chumak, multi-instrumentalist, Mikita Arlou, and drummer, Anton Nemahai. For their third album, there is a stronger focus, and it is influenced by 70s Música popular Brasileira and building bridges from it to present-day Belarus.

DIJONAbsolutely LP (Warner)
Absolutely is the highly-anticipated album that was recorded over the course of a few fervent weeks whilst in tight confines with a close-knit group of collaborators and friends. The album channels the unfettered emotion of Dijon’s live show, which has become a “you had to be there” topic of conversation in the music community with his performance entrancing many witnesses over the last several years.

LESS THAN  JAKE In With The Out Crowd LP reissue (grape) LP (Real Gone)
Limited grape colored vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. The sixth (2006) studio album from Gainesville, FLA ska-punkers Less than Jake is hereby the last one to be released to music retail on vinyl! Why did it take so long? Heck if we know… powered by the singles “Overrated (Everything Is)” and “The Rest of My Life” and the emphatic album opener “Soundtrack of My Life,” and featuring production by Howard Benson (who produced LTJ’s Hello Rockview), it’s one of their best. We worked with the band to finally get this one out there (and had LTJ’s own Roger Lima remaster it for vinyl).

WANDSpiders In The Rain CD/LP (Drag City)
Wand take it to the stage, to employ that sciency ol’ adage: energy massed quantifies in energy released. It’s all on Einstein’s blackboard, check there if you don’t believe us. With this formula in mind, Wand ride nine of their favorite live warhorses out in front of wholesome pre-pan fans, friends and other kinds of Californians, where the collective energies are tapped to flush even more ‘all’ out of their encompassing compositions. If and when you think that the all-live Spiders in the Rain is Wand’s best batch yet, that’s when you know: it’s better when everybody’s here!

BILL NACEThrough A Room LP (Drag City)
Using the looped-and-screwed methodology of (his previous Drag City release) Both, Nace takes a seismic step, building the process into a larger compositional process, employing guitar plus tapes, hurdy gurdy, doughnut pipe, quelle est belle and the nu Nace ax of choice, taishōgoto. Phrases talk to and obliterate each other, expanding and emerging into brave new unheard vistas.

PLAIDFeorm Falorx LP (Warp)
Plaid present Feorm Farlorx as their 11th studio album. All based around A.I., the 10 tracks have the signature beats that have become synonymous with the duo’s tech driven sounds for nearly 3 decades. At the record’s core is the band’s embarkment on their biggest tour, yet which includes an intergalactic date at the festival Feorm on the planet Falorx.
