Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams And My Dreams Said To Crawl is the singer-songwriter’s career-spanning collection of songs taken from his five widely acclaimed albums, including Fear Fun (2012), I Love You, Honeybear (2015), the Grammy-nominated Pure Comedy (2017), God’s Favorite Customer (2018), and Chloë And The Next 20th Century (2022). Greatish Hits marks the first appearance of fan favorite “Real Love Baby” on an album release. You could call Wishy’s story a lucky one. After prior monikers and iterations, Wishy was born as a kaleidoscope of alternative music’s semi-recent history, with traces of shoegaze, grunge and power-pop swirling together. On Triple Seven, Indiana songwriters Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites’ musical synergy proves itself to be a rare one–the kind that sounds like someone striking gold. Part sly wink and part warm gratitude, it’s only fitting their much-anticipated full length debut is titled Triple Seven, where Wishy’s penchant for indelible hooks is couched equally in pillowy atmospherics and scathing distortion. Foster The People return with their long awaited fourth studio album, Paradise State Of Mind. “The record started as a case study of the late ‘70s crossover between disco, funk, gospel, jazz, and all those sounds. It was such a beautiful moment in time, when these different styles of music were cross-referencing each other – artists like Nile Rogers and Chic, the Tom Tom Club and Giorgio Moroder,” says Mark Foster. Ray Lamontagne – Long Way Home CD/LP (Liula)
Ray LaMontagne has spent the past two decades carving a singular space for himself in modern music. Across eight studio albums, LaMontagne has let his songs and story speak for themselves, ringing a deep chord in the American subconscious. As has come to be expected through his extensive and awarded discography, LaMontagne delivers yet again on record nine with a cohesive, impressive effort. Velocity Girl – Ultra Copacetic (Copacetic Remixed And Expanded) CD/2xLP (Sub Pop)
Velocity Girl formed in 1989 or so at the University of Maryland outside Washington DC, and shortly thereafter settled on the lasting lineup of guitarist Archie Moore (Black Tambourine), guitarist Brian Nelson (Black Tambourine), drummer Jim Spellman (Starry Eyes, Foxhall Stacks, High Back Chairs, Julie Ocean, Piper Club), bassist Kelly Riles (Starry Eyes), and singer Sarah Shannon (Starry Eyes, The Not It’s). The band combined English-inspired noisy shoegaze fuzz with scrappy US indie rock and classic ’60s-style pop songwriting. A killer single on Slumberland and non-stop touring grabbed the attention of the indie-rock cognoscenti of the day, and, following a heated courtship involving both dinner AND dessert, Velocity Girl signed a contract on a car hood in Hoboken, New Jersey, making Sub Pop their home. Kilbey Kennedy – Premonition K LP (Easy Action)
New album by the successful duo Steve Kilbey (The Church) and Martin Kennedy. Interest and profile of Steve Kilbey has been raised considerably over the past year due to The Church re-forming, touring and issuing 2 new albums. Embark on a mesmerising journey with the third and culminating chapter of the highly acclaimed trilogy by Steve Kilbey and Martin Kennedy. Morgan Wade – Obsessed CD/2xLP (SME Nashville)

Sub Pop and The Album Leaf celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark album In A Safe Place with a lovely limited-edition blue vinyl LP repress. Since its original release in 2004, the album has sold over 50,000 copies, garnered critical acclaim, and led to the songs “On Your Way” and “Eastern Glow” appearing in the FOX show The O.C.

Dinosaur Jr – Farm [Reissue/2009] 2xLP (Jagjaguwar)
Neon green colorway. Farm encompasses Dinosaur Jr.’s signature palette: soaring and distorted guitar, unshakable hooks, honey-rich melodies. At times wholly ‘70s guitar-epic, at times perfect for sitting by a babbling brook with Joni and Neil, these songs get into your head and stay there, bouncing happily around.

Elliott Smith – An Introduction To Elliott Smith LP (Kill Rock Stars)
Limited edition metallic silver pressing. This album features fourteen tracks compiled from all seven of Elliott Smith’s albums (including his albums on Geffen): Roman Candle, Elliott Smith, Either/Or, XO, Figure 8, From A Basement on the Hill, and New Moon. An Introduction to… is, as the title suggests, intended as an introduction to one of the greatest songwriters of our era. We hope this will enable new generations to learn about Elliott’s music by providing a pathway for people to delve more deeply into his immensely satisfying catalog.

Czarface – Czartificial Intelligence (Instrumentals) LP (Silver Age)
Limited edition crimson vinyl. Czartificial Intelligence debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top New Artist Albums chart when it was released in November and was the #2 most-added at Hip-Hop That also makes it the #1 debut on the chart. The wins keep coming as the record also debuted on the genreless Top 200 chart, coming in the top half of all records and a top 10 debut for the week! The third full week of airplay for the LP saw 3s all around as it earned a third week on the Hip-Hop chart and another top 3 appearance! Over at NACC top 200, the record cracked into the Top 50, 40+ spots up to a new peak and one of the top 10 greatest gainers for the week! The album peaked at the NACC 200 in Week 4, just outside the Top 40! That week it also hit a peak at Earshot, topping that chart at #1! The album earned 5 weeks at #1 NACC Hip-Hop, the record so far for the 2024 NACC Hip-Hop Chart!

Lee Morgan – The Gigolo [Reissue/1965] LP (Blue Note)
Following the runaway success of The Sidewinder in 1964, Alfred Lion continued to record trumpeter Lee Morgan frequently in the hopes of capturing another funky boogaloo hit. While his subsequent albums may not have scaled the same commercial heights, Morgan certainly delivered the musical goods on his 1965 albums The Rumproller, The Gigolo, and Cornbread, all of which stand among the finest outings in his formidable discography. Recorded over two dates that Summer, The Gigolo featured Morgan with a dynamic quintet comprised of Wayne Shorter on tenor saxophone, Harold Mabern on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums.

New York Dolls – Too Much Too Soon [Reissue/1974] LP (Vinyl Lovers)
Judging from the title of their second album recorded in 1974, the NY Dolls understood their place in history perfectly. Punk rock had yet to break, and five cross-dressing, trash-talking rockers from the bowels of the Bowery had no place in the corporate music world, and yet the two albums by the NY Dolls are two of the most influential slabs of vinyl ever cut. Produced by George “Shadow” Morton (who during the ‘60s produced the legendary street tough & potty mouthed NY girl group the Shangri-La’s).

Pansy Division – Undressed [Reissue/1993] LP (Sounds Rad)
Pansy Division’s iconic debut album, Undressed, is back on vinyl. Sounds Rad delivers a lovingly remastered reissue of this seminal queercore classic, originally released on Lookout! Records over 30 years ago. With its infectious pop-punk melodies and unabashedly fun lyrics, Undressed introduced the world to the wild and witty world of Pansy Division – three guys whose catchy tunes could charm the pants off just about anyone – and this album has garnered love by legions of fans and critics alike. 

The Scientists – You Get What You Deserve [Reissue/1985] LP (Numero)
Bad vibes, habits, and breath collide on this ten-song pile up on the freeway to nowhere. Melting neo-grunge, swamprock, and noise punk in a cauldron of drug-addled psychosis, 1985’s You Get What You Deserve continues Australia’s prison-as-country tradition of unhinged lunacy in the face of cultural isolation. Nuke nostalgia, femme fatale sharpshooters, demolition derbies, and a vacation at Hell Beach await. [A color vinyl pressing is available.]

Thievery Corporation – It Takes A Thief: The Very Best Of Thievery Corporation LP (Virgin)
Available on limited edition coke bottle clear and black vinyl. It Takes a Thief, the 2010 compilation from Thievery Corporation, is a collection of tracks specially selected by Rob Garza and Eric Hilton for longtime fans and music lovers who have heard of Thievery Corporation but may have never listened to the band. Featuring “Lebanese Blonde,” the beautiful track used on the Grammy® Award-winning Garden State soundtrack, as well as “Sound the Alarm,” the funk-infused track that has become a staple opening track for their live shows. Available as a 2LP set in a gatefold jacket with printed sleeves.

Wayne Shorter – JuJu [Reissue/1965] LP (Blue Note)
1964 was a momentous year in the musical life of Wayne Shorter. At the start of the year the saxophonist was still a member of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, appearing on classic Blue Note albums like Free For All and Indestructible. Shorter made his own auspicious label debut that spring with Night Dreamer and that summer he joined the Miles Davis Quintet cementing a line-up that would become one of the seminal bands in jazz history. When he returned to the studio for Blue Note in August it was in the company of three musicians with strong ties to John Coltrane: pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Reggie Workman, and drummer Elvin Jones. The resulting album JuJu is a marvel in Shorter’s formidable discography which presents six of his evocative original compositions.

Sonny Stitt & Red Holloway – At Cobden’s Place LP (Jazz Rewind)
The Jazz Rewind label is back with another first-edition recording by two American jazz giants, Sonny Stitt and Red Holloway. This saxophone duo regularly performed and recorded together since 1967. Sonny Stitt sadly passed away in 1982. This Cobden’s Place set from Manchester UK, 4 March 1981 is previously unreleased on any format. They perform alongside other jazz musicians including Vinny Parker (Piano), Pete Glennon (Bass) and Ron Parry (Drums). Enjoy this first edition LP on heavyweight orange-colored vinyl.

Shiner – Splay LP reissue (Spartan)
Shiner’s debut album remixed from original tapes by Paul Malinowski and remastered by Mike Nolte at Eureka Mastering. Brand new artwork by Jordan Butcher at Strange Practice.
