Finally out on LP! Lykke LI returns with her fifth studio album EYEYE. The LP is an eight track story about lust, attraction, attachment, and rejection; the landscape of love. The songs are inhabited by moving images that neither start nor end. Each film functions as a visual loop, concise as a haiku, yet continuing in perpetuity. The result is a somatic, repetitious experience, compounding chapters between a dream and reality.

JOHN FRUSCIANTE – Enclosure LP (Record Collection)

Slowly getting in the Frusciante LP reissues! Two came in this week. 2014 album from the musician best known for his work as guitarist/songwriter for Red Hot Chili Peppers. ‘ENCLOSURE, upon its completion, was the record which represented the achievement of all the musical goals I had been aiming at for the previous 5 years. It was recorded simultaneously with Black Knights MEDIEVAL CHAMBER, and as different as the two albums appear to be, they represent one investigative creative thought process, and what I learned from one feeded into the other. ENCLOSURE, though it is for me now a year old, is still presently my last word on the musical statement which began with PBX, and I have since moved on to other things.’ – John Frusciante.

Although John Frusciante is best known as the former guitarist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, he also has an active solo career, having released 11 albums under his own name. His solo recordings include elements ranging from experimental rock and ambient music to New Wave and Electronica.

NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS – First Born Is Dead LP (BMG)

More Nick Cave reissues are in! The Firstborn Is Dead, co-produced by Nick Cave, the Bad Seeds and Flood, is the second studio album released by Cave & the Bad Seeds, and was originally released on June 3rd 1985. Cave explores his fascination with the American South, with references ranging from Elvis Presley to ‘Blind’ Lemon Jefferson. · Recorded in Berlin, Cave later said of this album, “Berlin gave US the freedom and encouragement to do whatever we wanted. We’d lived in London for three years and it seemed that if you stuck your head out of the box, people were pretty quick to knock it back in, particularly if you were Australian. When we came to Berlin it was the opposite. People saw US as some kind of force rather than a kind of wacky novelty act. Vinyl transfer approval overseen by Mick Harvey during Summer 2014, cut at Abbey Road studios. Vinyl is heavyweight 180 gram. This edition, approved personally by Nick Cave, is finally available again on its original format.

Produced by Flood, the album was recorded during several sessions over the course of four months in West Berlin-where the band were based at the time of its release-and London and dedicated to Fernando Ramos da Silva.
